Meg McElwee of Sew Liberated just released three new fabulous patterns! She is also releasing her first book, Sew Liberated: 20 Stylish Projects for the Modern Sewist, in December which nido is thrilled to announce that not only will we be carrying but we will also take part in Meg’s trunk show-which basically means lots of inspiring examples to drool over and plenty of books to purchase so you can get those last minute holiday gifts made! While you wait for her book, stop by nido & check out her new patterns–they are sure to inspire you to start a new project for yourself (the School House Tunic is pretty irresistible) or a little one in your life!

I couldn’t wait for Amanda Soule, aka Soule Mama’s, new book Handmade Home to be released. I enjoyed her first book tremendously & regularly read her blog (which by the way if any of you haven’t checked her delightful blog out–you really should here).
I was particularly drawn to the treasure bag that she whipped up for her kiddos to take to the beach. Since it is now October & way too late for a new beach bag, I decided to make trick or treat bags for Franco & the gang of children coming to our house for Halloween this year. They turned out just as I had imagined they would—so adorable & ready to be filled with my little pirates booty! Now it’s costume time…stay tuned for pictures of the pirates!

It has been wonderful to see people walk into our little shop & instantly get inspired! Customers have come back in & e-mailed about projects they have completed with fibers from nido & we are thrilled to share their creations with you:
Inspired by O-wool Classic in Rust, Kira made this adorable scarf.
We think the buttons are such a nice touch!
Quinn, who comes in from St.Albans, sent in a photo of a pillow & table runner that she sewed up out of Valerie Wells Del Hi collection. We can’t wait to see the Heather Ross kimono dress that she is making out of Kaffe Fassett Shot Cotton.
Thank you Kira and Quinn for sharing your wonderful creations with us!

We are so excited to sew something up with this gorgeous fabric from Seven Islands. Hummm…perhaps a much needed pillow for the living room or the Twirly Skirt from Sew Liberated that we just got in…the possibilities are endless! Shipped in directly from Japan, the Enchino Collection is quality, light weight, double cotton gauze and comes in a variety of bright, fun colors. It is truly inspirational–my photos do not give this fabric justice!
